An Armful of Roses

Today being Mother's Day, this morning at church, Deanna and I sang a special called "Handful of Weeds". It is a beautiful song, describing a relationship between a child and their mother. It's very touching and had many in tears!

Four years old, with dirt on my face,
I'd been out in the yard, picking dandelions all day,
I burst through the front door, when I'd gathered enough,
To give to my mom, to show her my love.
And as I held out my hands, and she looked down at me,
She said, "I've never seen flowers as beautiful as these".

She's the one who told me about Jesus,

She's the one who taught me to sing,

She deserves an armful of roses,

But she's satisfied with a handful of weeds.

After we finished singing, we presented Mom with an armful of roses!

We love you, Mom!

Happy Mother's Day!

I like that song!! We are very blessed with the mothers we have! I think I speak for both of us when I say that we have wonderful mothers!

My sisters and I used to sing a song called Moms Are Special People every year around Mother's Day. But it was a bit young and we eventually grew out of it.

Thank you so much for all of the comments on my blog. It is so nice to know that someone is reading it! :) I really should leave comments for you more often...sorry.

I love that song. Thanks for sharing it with us. I couldn't think of a more appropriate Mother's Day song.
