Invites and Hamburgers

This has been a busy, but fun week. Between church activities, hockey games and getting Deanna's graduation announcements finished, it has been full. But it has been a profitable week! Here's a recap:

As I said, we were busy getting Deanna's announcements done and folded and addressed and all of that fun stuff. We had a good time though. :-)

Our first playoff hockey game was last night - we had a ball! We got to tail-gate before the game with family and then headed inside where we had a rousing game, and came out on top, 4-1! :-D

It was perfect tail-gating weather!

::Delaine wanted to save a parking spot for my dad, so she set one of our chairs in the parking spot!::

::This added some excitement to our night! We got to meet and get our picture taken with Eddie Olczyk - an NHL sports commentator! How exciting!!::

As I said, we ended up winning 4-1! So it was an extremely fun evening all the way around! :-D

We'd like to ask for your prayers tomorrow as we head to Nebraska for a revival. Please pray that God will provide us with good weather, safe traveling mercies, that our van will run smoothly, and that those who are in attendance at the services will be challenged, changed, and encouraged!

Tori's Tasty Tuesdays - Wacky Cake

I greatly apologize for my lack of recipes lately - in fact, I apologize for my lack of general posting. We have been incredibly busy. So, even though this is not Tuesday, I have decided to get caught up on my recipes.

This cake is so quick and easy and very moist! You won't need any butter, milk, or eggs. You don't need any extra bowls or anything to mix things in - it's all done in the pan. You will love this delicious cake!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 6 tbsp. cocoa
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups cold water

Mix dry ingredients in a 9x13 pan. (Do not grease or flour pan) Make 3 holes. Put vinegar in one hole, oil in another, and vanilla in the other hole. Pour cold water over all. Mix well. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees. You may either make your own frosting or use store-bought.

Now wasn't that EASY?? Enjoy!!

Hallelujah!

Yes, you read it correctly.
It was 85 degrees here today! It's the warmest day we've had in months! It was wonderful - I think that spring has finally arrived! Yay!

Autographs anyone?

These were taken after last Friday night's hockey game - Nikki was dying to get some autographs! She has an autograph scrapbook that a lady made for her that she was having them sign. I think she was enjoying the attention everyone around her was giving her, admiring her book! :-) So, here a few pictures of her exciting time:

Just for the record, we won that night, as well as the two games after that, so we are now advancing to the second round of the playoffs! Yay! :-)

This is scary.....

Please watch this video about Oprah - this is so sad! People need to hear the truth - not this garbage. We need to pray! Be sure to pause the music on my sidebar.

An Old-fashioned Revival.....

Yesterday we returned home from a wonderful week in Ottumwa, Iowa. We had an old-fashioned, sin-killing, heaven-sent, devil-chasing revival! There were many that received help - both around the altars and in the pews. There was one lady who came down to the altar one of the nights, and was literally sobbing and crying out to God. She received the help she was praying for and she started clapping her hands and thanking God! It was so wonderful to see!

::At McDonald's with our dear friends, Lesa and Hayley::

::It's somewhat of a running joke about how loud we get when we're together, laughing and carrying on::

::Hayley with her dear chihuahua, Kell::

::Playing our absolute favorite game, Dutch Blitz::

::Talk about a wild time! We can get violent!::

::Hayley and I::

::Deanna and Lesa::

::Dad, Deanna, and I with Pastor Smith. We had a wonderful time staying at his house::

::Picture time!::

::We were excited to visit an Amish community not too far from Ottumwa and enjoyed visiting the gift shop::

::An Amish schoolhouse - as we were driving by, it was recess and there were many Amish children outside playing baseball - it was so neat!::

::Look at all that laundry!::

::Pastor always had 3-5 deer come up into his backyard - we were really close to them!::

::This was taken from the bedroom window - and I'm not zooming in! They got even closer than that - right up to the side of the house!::

So, we had a wonderful week! It was filled with so many laughs and fun! The church people were so welcoming and kind. We will never forget this week. Thanks for praying for us!
