Happy Thanksgiving!

Thought I'd post this funny video about Thanksgiving....hope you enjoy it!

Also, leave me a comment saying what you're thankful for this year....we are a blessed people! As the old song says, "Count your blessings, name them one by one...." - so whether you're a lurker or a regular visitor (even though I never post! Ahh!), I would love to hear your thoughts!

Our plans tomorrow consist of watching the annual Macy's Parade, eating dinner with family, and our annual hockey game against Cedar Rapids! What are some traditions your family enjoys around Thanksgiving?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Mother's Day

We hope all of you moms out there had a wonderful Mother's Day! Our family spent Mother's Day in Des Moines, Iowa - Mom spoke at a Mother/Daughter Banquet Saturday afternoon (and Deanna and I sang) and revival at the church started Saturday night. The banquet went very well (thanks for praying!)! I believe they had between 55-60 ladies show up for the banquet - praise the Lord!

The ladies of the church pitched in and made all of these beautiful baskets that they gave away in drawings!

Mom and I came home on Sunday afternoon while the rest of the family stayed in Des Moines for the rest of the week for the revival. On Monday, they took a trip to the Iowa Hall of Pride

They had all of these games that they had fun playing

Gymnast Shawn Johnson! AND I found out that she and I have the same birthday!!

Mother's Day morning before church

This is a video of Dad and Nikki doing a soccer game at the Hall of Pride - it's pretty funny!

One of the first posts that I ever did was a video about Moms. It is so funny! Here is the link to it - it's perfect for Mother's Day!

Fireproof

Our family had the amazing opportunity last night to go and support an incredible movie, Fireproof! Made by Sherwood Pictures (who also created Flywheel and Facing the Giants), this movie is for the entire family. It tells the story of a struggling couple who are find themselves on the brink of divorce - and how God changed their life and their marriage. It gives a realistic view on marriage and it shares the plan of salvation. It also stars Kirk Cameron (Growing Pains, Left Behind) - who does an amazing job!

This is a must-see - especially for all Christians! We need to make sure that we support this Christian film - they are rare these days!

Old Campmeeting Days

Dad, Deanna, and I returned home Thursday from Moravia, Iowa. Let me tell you, I have never experienced something quite like that before - an old-fashioned, sin-killing, devil-chasing, Holy Spirit-sent campmeeting - and it was just like what used to happen way back in the old campmeeting days! It was absolutely incredible! The altars were flooded, there was shouting, crying, hands being lifted up, and lives being changed! It stills gives me goosebumps to even think about it!
Deanna and I had the privilege of being able to play with their band - it was an incredible experience that Deanna and I have never had the opportunity to have. We had an absolute blast playing with these great musicians!
THANK YOU to all who prayed for this week! God was there and He was moving!
Please take a look at these videos below - it's a small glimpse of what our week was like. The first four are of our song service Sunday night - was that ever a song service?? Wow! Watch them all the way through! I guarantee you will get goosebumps as well!
REMEMBER TO PAUSE THE MUSIC ON THE SIDEBAR!

To see more videos of the week, go to YouTube and search "Moravia Nazarene Church". Tomorrow, we head off to Holiness Camp!! Yay!!

In honor of Memorial Day....

....I have decided to post an AMAZING video of an INCREDIBLE rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner". You will be floored at these voices - these girls (who are sisters) are all between the ages of 6 and 9. Their pitch is perfect and their harmony astounding. This was their first public event as they sang at a Texas Tech vs. Texas basketball game. Enjoy!

"Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives, and when he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?"

~ Clarence the Angel in It's a Wonderful Life

Have a safe Memorial Day weekend!

Chicago

I apologize for taking such a long time to get my post about Chicago on here.....we finally uploaded the pictures and we have been so busy lately, I haven't had a chance to sit down and write a post. We had a wonderful time in Chicago! Our entire family went, which was a lot of fun, considering we don't get to go on revivals as a family much anymore. The services were great - we believe and pray that many were ministered to! Thank you so much for your prayers!

Friday afternoon, we took the Metra train into downtown Chicago with the pastor and his wife. We had so much fun! :-) It was complete culture shock....when we walked up from the underground train station, and saw all of the TALL buildings.....wow! What a feeling! We Iowans were in a state of shock....to us Des Moines is a big town...but it was nothing compared to Chicago. Here are some pictures from our big expedition! :-D

::Actually, this isn't Chicago....this is Crestwood, where we were doing the revival. Chicago is famous for it's hot dogs...so we just had to try some at Portillo's - very good!::

::Anxiously waiting for the Metra train to take off!::

::As well as a little nervous::

::A real live conductor!!::

::Pastor Mark and Paula::

::Sorry this is a little dark....you may need to click on it to enlarge it, so you can see it better::

::The John Hancock Observatory::

::What a view! Notice the Sears Tower (wonder which one that is??)::

::Busy window washers::

::Trolleys are marvelous inventions....especially after walking almost the entire Magnificent Mile!::

::Navy Pier::

::Millennium Park::

::The ice skating rink in Millennium Park::

::Family photo looking through the kidney bean....that is a strange but very cool piece of art!::

::Tired from the exciting day, but not too tired to pose for one last picture::

::Strawberry smoothie Mexican style! We got a good chuckle out of this one.....::

::This is a video of Mom and Deanna rock climbing at Dick's Sporting Goods....watch Mom especially (on left)...she had a rough go of it! It's pretty funny! :-D Be sure to pause the music on the sidebar!::

Thanks to Mark and Paula for taking the day to show us around Chicago, and for putting up with our constantly stopping to videotape/take pictures! We had so much fun!

As always, we ask for your continued prayers. Dad and Deanna left today for a revival in Des Moines, Iowa, so please keep those services in your prayers.
